Dr Jane Bayreuther

Chair of APEM

I am a paediatric ED consultant from a paediatric background. I am a fellow of the royal college of paediatrics and child health. I am a START assessor and teach on both APLS and ATLS. I trained in Southampton and have returned to Southampton as a consultant after a spell in Australia and London. I have had a locum consultant post at St Thomas’ and a previous substantive consultant post at University Hospital Lewisham. I was in the first cohort of paediatric emergency medicine grid trainees and have been proud to be a part of our evolving speciality.

I have played an active part in the APEM executive committee for many years, having previously been treasurer.
I hope to help APEM be able to help doctors working in Tertiary hospitals and district general hospitals deliver excellent care to children in their emergency departments – be they stand alone units, collocated units, units under paediatric or emergency care governance, or both!
